Make responsible, well-researched budget decisions
-
Clearly explain how funds are used and why
-
Prioritize spending that directly benefits students and classrooms
-
Seek grants and partnerships to reduce the local tax burden
5. Parent & Community Engagement
Parents and communities should have a voice in their schools.
-
Encourage open communication with families
-
Welcome public input at board meetings

-
Ensure policies are applied consistently and fairly
-
Make decisions based on facts, not politics
-
Always put students’ best interests first
7. Keeping Local Schools Local (The school is the heart of the community, especially in Boone County. The entire community is connected to their local school.)
Strong schools help keep communities strong.
-
Advocate for local control and local voices
-
Work to keep schools open and thriving where possible
-
Support programs that encourage students to stay, work, and raise families in WV
